Restaurant Review: Resto Vivaldi

This weekend I went to Resto Vivaldi located at 13071, boul. Gouin Ouest,

It is in a small shopping centre at the corner of Gouin and Fredmir.

It is also bring your own wine so if you want to drink something dont forget to bring it along...

I had the fried calimari and veal with portobello mushrooms, both of which were very good.

Others at our table enjoyed the veal with dijon and the gnocci gorgonzola

If you are going on a friday or saturday night it is best to have a reservation because it is pretty busy.

The only thing I did not like was that the restaurant was quite loud and it was difficult to hear the people at the far end of our table (we were 8). Not exactly a place for a quiet romantic dinner.

Imax on St-Catherine

Went to see V for Vendatta last night at the Paramount on St-Catherine street- at 977 St-Catherine West.

It's been a while since I have seen a movie on the IMAX screen- actually the first time I have seen a regular movie on this screen. Wow. Huge.

Now if only V for Vendetta could have been better....

Cabane a Sucre

Went to Cabane a Sucre Marc Besner last weekend with friends...

for $28 you had all you can eat sugar shack food i.e. eggs, bacon, of course Maple Syrup...

they also have a sleigh ride in the winter (which became a cart ride since most of the snow was gone)

... also face painting and balloons for kids

Restaurant review: Breads of India

Stopped in at this small restaurant last night located at 2027 St-Laurent.

When I say small the entire restaurant has 10-15 tables.... There are only a couple of selections on the menu but the meat dish with butter chicken is incredible.

It is well worth a visit.

Chaussures Super Prix

Chaussures Super Prix located at 4829 Wellington in Verdun has thebest priced shoes in Montreal byfar.

The place is tiny and full of shoes that are overstock at retailers-if you don't find the shoe you want in your size they won't have it,but at $20 a pair it's worth a visit.

Bar Review: Cafeteria

Went out Saturday night to a few places...

started at Suite 701, located in the Place d'Armes hotel in Old Montreal.. Very trendy but also very packed on a friday, may be better for happy hour...

After we left we wanted to go somewhere on St-Laurent but there were lineups everywhere- we were going to try Juice- 3603 St-Laurent (close to corner Prince Arthur)- but the people coming out were very young...late teens. May be a good place to go if I was younger but ended up going to Cafeteria at 3581 St Laurent where we relaxed for the rest of the evening...
